Continuing Education Compliance

This course helps satisfy the continuing education requirements set by Commission Rules 58A .1702 and 58A .1703.

To maintain an active North Carolina real estate license, brokers must complete 8 hours of continuing education each license year, including:

  • One 4-hour Update course
  • One 4-hour Commission-approved elective

Non-BIC/non-BIC-Eligible Brokers and Provisional Brokers must complete the GENUP.

Important Live Online Attendance Requirement

Per NCREC rules, students taking this course by Zoom or another synchronous online format must remain visible on camera for the duration of the course in order to receive credit. A device with a webcam is required.

Students must also attend at least 90% of the course. Because this is a 4-hour course, students may miss no more than 24 minutes total, including:

  • Late arrivals
  • Early departures
  • Extended breaks
  • Time not visible on camera
